a little birdy said "cheap, cheap, cheap!"
Since Ryan and I will be landing in Mumbai at 12:15am on the 10th, I decided to book a hotel so that we wouldn't be the only stupid white folk wandering the streets of Mumbai in the wee morning hours...Guess how much it cost me? $57 for 3 nights for two people!!! Man this is starting out well. Mind you, it is a 2-star deluxe government approved hotel, which is basically a fancy hostel. Well, maybe fancy is a stretch, but we do have our own bathroom! Ryan has the luxury of stopping in London overnight between his flights, whereas I will be flying to London and two hours later, hopping on to the next one to Mumbai...that's about 20 hours or slightly less of flying...and I can't sleep in planes!!! Anyone got sleeping pills? warm milk? chamomile tea? I am gonna have some serious jetlag. When I went to Mauritius, after 3 days of sleeping normally, I ended up going to bed one night after dinner and waking up the next night....I only meant to have a one-hour nap! I am having issues getting my head around the money thing. I didnt get travellers cheques because the bank said my bank card will work over there but now I dont know if I should get money before I go, when Im there, if I should get British pounds before London or wait til Im there, and Euros for Paris....geez...You can tell I've never done this before. The good thing is, I have a stash of American money (don't try finding it, I love hiding things and I am good at it too) so Ill bring a little of that with me, and as they say: American dollars are worth a thousand pleas for help...or am I thinking of something else? ha! Alrighty, I'm off to see the wizard, the wonderful wizard of Oz You think there's a yellow brick road in India? Leanne |
